About

Held at the stunning Leonardo Royal London City Hotel, the BII's National Innovation in Training Awards (NITAs) once again looked to celebrate the epic efforts of those within the hospitality industry.

The awards focus on shining a light on teams and individuals who support and champion their people through training programmes, businesses and individuals who put their people first.

The awards have grown since their inception, and in November, the BII recognised an incredible 14 categories of awards.

The winners across the night were:

  • Best Training Programmes in:
    • Apprenticeships | Brewhouse & Kitchen
    • Leased & Tenanted | Marston's
    • Managed Over 50 | Brunning & Price
    • Managed Under 50 | Oakman Group
    • Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity | Marston's
    • Individual Operator | Ollie Coulombeau, The Turk's Head, Twickenham
    • Sustainability | Marston's
  • Team Wellbeing | Brunning & Price
  • Best Recruitment Strategy of the Year| Star Pubs & Bars
  • Training Professional of the Year | Sze Razak, Fuller, Smith & Turner Plc
  • Hospitality Apprentice of the Year | Harry Widgery, The Wykeham Arms

The NITAs also aims to recognise a special individual from the industry who demonstrates that people are at the core of hospitality and who leads by example. They do this with the Franca Knowles Lifetime Achievement Award.

Chosen by a panel led by Keith Knowles, CEO and founder of Beds & Bars, this award is named after the late Franca Knowles, who was a passionate individual and multi-award winner of NITA awards over the years.
